OMDC Attendance at the Digital Innovators’ Summit, Berlin

Celebrating its 10th year, DIS brings together senior executives from media businesses, technology innovators and solution providers to share ideas,  discuss emerging trends and showcase future products. The conference attracts over 600 senior executives from over 35 countries and presents cutting edge topics from over 40 thought leaders and top international speakers.

For the second year, OMDC supported nine Ontario publishing professionals to attend this world-class conference. With a focus on advancing business strategies, expanding knowledge of new trends and emerging technology, and establishing international business networks, the trip provided additional value to attending the conference itself. OMDC organized a networking walking tour of Berlin with handpicked conference delegates, and a VIP dinner with guests from the local Berlin media industry, coordinated in partnership with Magazines Canada and the Canadian Embassy in Berlin.

OMDC’s support is part of an ongoing emphasis on International Business Development initiatives to encourage magazine media professionals to explore business opportunities around the world. The OMDC-supported delegates were from Annex Business Media, TEACH Magazine, The Walrus, Gripped Magazine, Universus Media, Maple Media, The Bay St. Bull and Magazines Canada. Overall, The Ontario delegation expressed that attendance at this international Summit provided a valuable opportunity.

“Thank you again for organizing this trip. The Walrus has already begun to implement ideas that came out of the conference.” ~ Cody Gault, Digital Director, The Walrus
