Toronto International Film Festival Group
The OMDC supports specific initiatives of the Toronto International Film Festival Group, a national and international charitable, cultural organization, with a mandate to cultivate an appreciation and understanding of film and the moving image.  Specifically, the OMDC provides funding for the operation of the Toronto International Film Festival and Cinematheque Ontario, project support to the OMDC Sales Office during the Film Festival as well as the Film Circuit (an association of film groups that screen films in 120 cities across Canada, including 71 locations in Ontario).  The Film Festival is widely recognized as one of the most important film festivals and the most successful public film festival in the world.  Cinematheque Ontario is the custodian of the Provincial Film Collection.  Cinematheque Ontario, which screens almost 400 films throughout the year, together with the curatorial work of the Film Reference Library, creates a centre for English-language film research.

Canadian Film Centre
The OMDC has historically supported the work of the Canadian Film Centre, an institution for advanced training and production in film, television and new media.  CFC was founded in 1988 by Canadian-born Academy Award-winning filmmaker Norman Jewison, and provides world-class training for emerging Canadian directors, writers, producers, editors and new media professionals.  In 1997, the Canadian Film Centre's new media lab, Habitat, was created and continues to provide a unique training and production think-tank environment designed for emerging new media content developers.  Based on a cycle of training, production and research, Habitat is now an internationally acclaimed and award-winning facility.

Other initiatives of the CFC include the Feature Film Project which provides financing and artistic and technical support to Canadian filmmakers in the production of their first dramatic feature.

Film Ontario
The OMDC partners with Film Ontario, a non-profit private sector consortium comprising Screen-based industry stakeholders (film, television and interactive media) Film Ontario's members represent over 50,000 people and over $1 billion in direct annual business activity in Ontario. FilmOntario's emphasis is on marketing Ontario as a screen-based content creator and production destination, and lobbying all levels of government (Municipal, Provincial and Federal) to ensure that the various government policies and programs support and enhance our vibrant industry.

This partnership augments the OMDC's efforts to build Ontario's profile as a production centre and includes shared support for the OMDC/City of Toronto's Film and Television Office in Los Angeles as well as various marketing and research initiatives throughout the year.
