Super Channel Development Fund
The Super Channel Development Fund is open and accepting applications for its fourth round of development financing. The upcoming deadline for project submissions is October 10, 2014. The next deadline will be March 27, 2015. Visit www.superchannel.ca/producers for further information.

12th Berlinale Co-Production Market – Call for Project Submissions

Until October 22, experienced producers from around the world may submit new feature film projects to the Berlinale Co-Production Market 2015. During the 12th Berlinale Co-Production Market (February 8-10, 2015), the team will again organise over 1000 customised one-on-one meetings for the selected projects with potential co-producers, financiers, world sales agents, distributors, as well as representatives of TV channels and funding bodies.Application forms and general guidelines for submitting projects for 2015 may be found at www.efm-berlinale.de. When East Meets West

When East Meets West is a co-production forum designed to bring together decision makers, financiers and 20 selected producers with a project in development from EASTERN EUROPE, ITALY and for 2015 from UK, IRELAND and NORTH AMERICA. The programme includes a public pitching, a series of one-to-one meetings and open discussions on the financial and distribution conditions in the spotlight region. Feature films for theatrical release or TV documentaries in development suitable for international co-production, preferably with a connection either with Italy or Eastern Europe, are invited to apply. SIM Group Launches Operation in Northern Ontario

The SIM Group, a leading Canadian supplier of technology to the film and television industry, is opening a new location in Northern Ontario. Located at the Muskoka North Film Studios in Parry Sound, Ontario, the new office will feature products and services from each of the SIM Group’s operating units: SIM Digital, a supplier of cameras and other production gear; PS Production Services, a supplier of lighting, grip, generator and specialty products; and Bling Digital, a specialist in post-production technology and services. The office will thus serve as a one-stop solution for film and television productions in Northern Ontario and throughout the region.

The Muskoka North Film Studios features an 8000 square foot studio and is one of the best-equipped studios in the region. The SIM Group will provide a variety of services to the facility, including support for its grid and green screen set up.
Parry Sound and other northern production centres have recently experienced a spike in production activity due to enticing grants from The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, which supports the local film and television industry. SIM Group’s SIM Digital and PS Production Services units have been working with local production crews in Northern Ontario for more than five years encompassing such film and television productions as Kids in the Hall, October Gale, The Colony, Oliver Sherman, A Very Larry Christmas, Skating to New York and Midnight Masquerade to name a few.
