Youth Jobs Strategy

The Ontario Centres for Excellence (OCE) announce four new programs that will help young entrepreneurs start and grow businesses. Part of Ontario’s $295-million Youth Jobs Strategy, the programs will help aspiring business owners develop business skills, provide capital, and the opportunity to gain experience and expertise through R&D internships.

The new programs include:

  • The $5-million On-Campus Entrepreneurship Activities (OCEA) program, and the $20-million Campus-Linked Accelerators (CLA) program, both of which help students develop entrepreneurial skills and transfer academic knowledge and expertise to the marketplace
  • The $9-million SmartStart Seed Fund to help young entrepreneurs build technology companies
  • The $10-million TalentEdge Program that bridges the gap between academia and the workforce, providing recipients opportunities to work on collaborative R&D projects between their academic institution and industry

To date, the Youth Jobs Strategy has created more than 10,000 jobs. For more information, click here.
