Call for Applications

  • Application deadline for Canadian producers: June 25, 2014
  • Application deadline for international producers: July 16, 2014

Presented by Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)

IFF is OMDC’s feature film co-financing event at the Toronto International Film Festival for independent producers and industry executives developing and financing English-language projects for the world market. Selected international and Canadian producers are brought together with international sales agents, distributors, funders, agents and executive producers to do business in brokered meetings and benefit from exclusive networking opportunities.

Now in its ninth year, IFF has introduced hundreds of projects to the international marketplace with over 40 successfully financed to date, including Nathan Morlando’s Citizen Gangster, Denis Villeneuve’s Incendies, David Michôd’s Animal Kingdom, Haifaa al-Mansour’s Wadjda, and Ralph Fiennes's directorial debut, Coriolanus.

At IFF 2013, OMDC scheduled over 450 one-on-one meetings and brought producers together with representatives from:
Bankside, Beta Cinema, Big Beach Films, Blue Ice Film, Cinemart/Rotterdam Film Festival, Cinetic Media, Echo Lake, eOne Entertainment, Film4, Film Nation, Fortissimo Films, IFC Films/Sundance Selects, K5 Media Group, ICM, Kickstarter, Magnolia, The Match Factory, Maven Pictures, Memento, Nordisk, Participant Film, Protagonist Pictures, Quickfire, River Road Entertainment, See-Saw Films, TF1, Tribeca Film Institute, Visit Films, Voltage, Wild Bunch, William Morris Endeavor, The Works.

Canadian and international feature film producers are eligible to participate in IFF 2014. Registration is free but competitive, with final selection to participate based on company track record and the suitability of projects.

Eligible applicants must have at a minimum:

  • one full producer credit (not executive producer credit) on a theatrically released feature by a recognizable distributor;
  • a market oriented English-language project in development that requires international co-production and/or financing partners.

IFF will consider non-English-language projects on a case-by-case basis. Applicants should contact Jan Nathanson, IFF Producer, for permission prior to submitting a non-English- language project.
