OMDC and Partners Host Fourth Annual Toronto/Ontario on Location in L.A. Event

Building on past year successes, OMDC recently hosted its fourth annual Toronto/Ontario on Location in L.A. event, an initiative designed to showcase Toronto and Ontario's advantages as a world-class location for film, TV, post-production, VFX and animation production. The day was brought to life in partnership with the City of Toronto and industry consortium FilmOntario.

Held on January 21 at the Universal City Hilton Hotel, the event centered around a trade show-style marketplace for Ontario-based suppliers to connect with clients.

Over lunch, a panel of senior industry decision makers including Rebekah Rudd, John Weber,and Debra Curtis shared their insights on how Ontario has contributed to the success of their recent projects. David Zitzerman moderated the discussion.

The event wrapped up with a networking reception.

Senior representatives from over 50 of Ontario's leading industry suppliers, producers and screen-based companies attended, including production and post-production, equipment suppliers, VFX and animation studios, studio operators, labour organizations, financial services companies, as well many industry support companies.

The Toronto/Ontario on Location in L.A. event helped continue Ontario's positive buzz in Hollywood, and gave existing clients and companies considering Ontario more information about the advantages of working here.
