Two OMDC-Supported Features Took Top Awards at The 2013 Whistler Film Festival

The Whistler Film Festival Audience Award went to Jason Priestley’s Cas & Dylan, an OMDC Film Fund-supported film.   Bruce McDonald's The Husband (OMDC Film Fund-supported feature) won The Borsos Award for Best Canadian Feature at The Whistler Film Festival.

Drinkbox Studios’ Guacamelee! Garners Acclaim!

Ontario’s Drinkbox Studios (@drinkboxstudios) makes Joystiq’s “Twenty developers you don't know, but should" list. Drinkbox Studios’ Guacamelee!, an OMDC-supported project, is @IGN's Best Vita Game Of 2013!! Guacamelee was also a nominee for @destructoid's 2013 Game of the Year!

Congratulations to Ontario Winners at The IAWTV Awards

OMDC IDM Fund-supported web series Versus Valerie (@VersusValerie) won an IAWTV 2014 Award for Best Female Performance in a Comedy - Hannah Spear. Versus Valerie is also nominated for a Canadian Screen Award.

Ontario's Colin Doncaster honoured with an Oscar®

Ontario's Peregrine Labs is home to visual effects pioneer Colin Doncaster (@ColinDoncaster) who has been awarded an Academy Award for deep compositing. Congratulations to this technical wizard!

Congratulations to Untold Entertainment’s (@UntoldEnt) Spellirium (OMDC IDM-supported project) which was Greenlit by Valve to be carried on Steam.

Stories We Tell
Congratulations to Sarah Polley, who was appointed to the Order of Canada. In December 2013, Polley’s feature documentary, Stories We Tell won more awards including: the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Non-Fiction Film, the National Board of Review Award for Best Documentary Film, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Documentary Film. Polley also won a WGA for Documentary Screenplay.

The Man with the Violin published by Annick Press won Ebook Fixed Format/Enhanced – Children at Digital Book Awards in NYC.
